This tiny tweak to Teams will make meetings smoother

Teams Update Eliminates “Next Slide, Please” Forever

Have you ever sat through a Teams meeting and cringed every time someone said, “Next slide, please”?
Yeah… me too.

If your business holds a lot of online meetings or webinars, you’ve probably felt the frustration. Clunky handoffs. Awkward pauses. Presenters fumbling to move slides while staying on track.

Well, Microsoft just released an update that solves all of that.

What’s New in Teams?

Microsoft Teams now allows multiple people to control the presentation slides in a meeting or webinar.
Finally.

Let’s back up. Teams is Microsoft’s all-in-one platform for video calls, messaging, file sharing, and team collaboration. Whether your business is remote, hybrid, or all in-office, Teams helps keep everyone connected without needing to switch between apps.

But when it came to presentations, there was a catch: only one person could control the slides. If someone else needed to speak, they’d have to say, “Next slide, please,” and hope the timing worked.

That changes now.

Co-Presenting Made Easy

With this new update, the meeting host can assign slide control to multiple presenters. That means when it’s your turn to speak, you can advance the slides yourself—no interruptions, no awkward handoffs.

It might seem like a small tweak, but it makes a big difference. Presentations feel smoother, meetings flow better, and everyone stays more engaged.

This feature is already rolling out for the Windows desktop version of Teams, and it’s expected to be available more broadly soon. You’ll likely see the option to assign co-presenters when you set up your meeting.

Microsoft Teams Keeps Getting Better

Between this update and other recent features—like in-meeting chat, whiteboards, and more—Microsoft is clearly focused on making Teams more useful and intuitive.
